Resum is distributed through the App Store, so the agreement that legally governs your use of it is Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. We have not replaced it with terms of our own. This page explains, in plain language, what you are actually getting.
What Resum does
You share a voice note into Resum and it produces a transcript and, where the language is supported, a short summary with the tasks and questions it found. All of that happens on your iPhone. There is no account to create and no server to sign in to.
Free and Pro
- Transcripts are unlimited and always free. Any length, any supported language, as many as you like.
- Five summaries every seven days are free. The window rolls: each summary frees up again seven days after you used it.
- Resum Pro removes that limit. It changes nothing else — everything else in the app is free with or without it.
Prices are shown in the app in your own currency and come from the App Store. Payment, renewal, refunds and cancellation are handled entirely by Apple: a subscription renews until you cancel it in your Apple ID settings, and cancelling there stops it. We never see your payment details.
What we do not promise
The summaries are produced by a machine learning model running on your device. It can be wrong: it can miss something, misread a name or a date, or phrase a task in a way the speaker did not intend. Resum shows the exact words each task and question came from precisely so you can check them. Do not rely on a summary alone for anything that matters — money, medicine, legal deadlines, travel. The recording is the source of truth, and it stays on your phone.
Speech recognition and summarisation are provided by Apple's on-device frameworks. Which languages can be summarised is Apple's decision, not ours, and it can change with an iOS update.
What you agree to
Use Resum only on audio you have the right to process. Do not use it to transcribe recordings of people who have not agreed to be recorded, where the law where you live requires their agreement.
Not affiliated with the messengers
Resum is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to WhatsApp, Telegram or Meta. It reads only the audio files you explicitly share into it.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
